Lostprophets shooting new music video
On the 6th November 2011, I went to see The Blackout at the London Roundhouse and when I was standing in line at the merch stall I saw that the girl next to me had scars all the way up her arm, some faded and old, some new right across her wrist. It hurt knowing that there was someone else who feels like that but in some strange way it gave me hope because here was a girl who hated herself and her life so much that she resorted to harming herself just to get by yet she still had the strength and the courage to see one of her favourite bands and show her scars to thousands. She probably intends at some point to end her life to escape her pain but she stayed alive long enough to go to a concert and later on that evening I saw her screaming every single word, and it was almost like that music was pumping through her veins, controlling her heartbeat and providing her with some form of escape, even just for a couple of hours. It made me realise just how much hope The Blackout do actually give to their fans and now, more than ever, I am a firm believer that music saves lives-The Blackout saves lives.
